Today (June 21, 2015), Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Minister of Industry, revealed that he has assigned the Sut Soi Inspection Team, or the Sut Soi Team, of the Ministry of Industry, along with TISI officials to inspect substandard products at a famous modern trade department store in Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi Province, following complaints received from the public. They found that the ribbed steel from the IF furnace, stamped with the CSI embossing, which was purchased for construction, cracked when the workers bent it. Later, the modern trade store replaced the product with a new one of another brand for the public. Therefore, TISI was sent to inspect as reported and collected 4 sets of steel samples (round steel bars, TIS 20-2559, and ribbed steel bars, TIS 24-2559) to be tested at the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand.
